4K OBS & vMix Broadcast Setup

Step-by-step instructions to integrate real-time transparent lower-third auction overlays into OBS Studio, vMix, Streamlabs, and Wirecast.

1

Get Your Live Overlay Browser Source URL

Every tournament generated on AuctionBest creates a dedicated, transparent broadcast URL. You can find this in your Auction Dashboard or copy the sample structure below:

Configure in OBS Studio

Follow these 4 simple steps inside OBS Studio:

  1. In the Sources dock at the bottom of OBS, click the + (Add) button and select Browser.
  2. Name your source (e.g., AuctionBest Lower-Third) and click OK.
  3. Set the following recommended properties:
    • URL: Paste your live overlay URL.
    • Width: 1920 (or 3840 for 4K).
    • Height: 1080 (or 2160 for 4K).
    • FPS: 60 (for ultra-smooth countdown animations).
    • Custom CSS: Leave default body { background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); margin: 0px auto; overflow: hidden; } for 100% transparency.
  4. Check "Refresh browser when scene becomes active" and click OK.
3

Configure in vMix

Inside vMix:

  1. Click Add Input → select Web Browser.
  2. Paste your overlay URL and set resolution to 1920x1080.
  3. Assign the input to Overlay 1 or Overlay 2 channel.
  4. Click the Overlay channel button to animate the lower-third HUD onto your camera stream.

Audio & Hammer Sound FX in Livestreams

AuctionBest features built-in sound effects (hammer strikes, outbid alerts, victory fanfares). In OBS Studio:

  • Check "Control audio via OBS" in your Browser Source properties if you want the sounds routed directly into your stream mixer.
  • In the OBS Audio Mixer, adjust the browser source volume to your preferred broadcast level.
